This is how the legend began…

Petek`s story starts between the years of 1916 – 1917 in abroad. In these years Hasan Usta begins his career in patisserie and he founded the passion which lived more than hundred years. The products became popular in every country they went to in a short period of time. Hasan Usta starts to teach his son Tevfik Usta so that he can work his best. After a while the father and son decide to come back to Turkey in 1942 and continue their business in the patisserie sector. In 1942 they open up a bakery called Hemşin Pastanesi ve Fırını (Hemshin Patisserie and Bakery). This patisserie is the first patisserie opened in the region. Hasan Usta`s son Tevfik Usta is the first person who brings the loaf of bread to Iskenderun and is popular with this. Tevfik Usta hands over the patisserie which he has built up in great care and work to his sons Necati and Hasan Alpagul in 1965. The 3 rd generation of the family changed the name of the patisserie to “PETEK PASTANESI”. Petek is right now lead by the family`s 4 th generation.
